Role Description

The Investment Associate will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and executing investment opportunities in nature-based solutions. This position supports the Head of Investments by conducting financial due diligence for carbon projects, developing carbon project finance budgets, and contributing to strategies that enhance FCF India’s portfolio of sustainable initiatives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate project viability and expected returns.

 

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential investment opportunities in nature-based solutions (e.g., forestry, agroforestry, carbon markets).

 

  • Analyze industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and financial implications of potential projects.

 

  • Perform scenario analysis and risk assessments for investment proposals.

 

  • Support the evaluation of investment opportunities, including technical, operational, and financial due diligence.

 

  • Assess project developers, community impact, and alignment with FCF India’s objectives.

 

  • Assist in monitoring and managing FCF India’s investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, legal advisors, and communications specialists, to drive successful project execution.

 

  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, partners, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Masters degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or a similar role; exposure to climate finance or sustainability projects is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets, renewable energy, or nature-based solutions is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
