Carbon Advisory
Role Description
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Manager to join our Carbon Advisory team at FCF India. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality climate action advisory services, including supporting carbon project development, corporate sustainability initiatives, and climate resilience strategies. You will work with diverse stakeholders to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy, leveraging your expertise in GHG accounting, ESG consulting, and carbon market mechanisms.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for new project development, provide technical and strategic support to clients, and strengthen the company’s position in the Indian and global carbon markets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on carbon accounting (including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions), climate action planning, and sustainability reporting for corporate clients.
- Support carbon project design, monitoring, and implementation in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, and waste management.
- Conduct research on carbon pricing, regulatory trends, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities for the organization.
- Assist in interpreting Article 6 frameworks and facilitating client readiness for compliance and voluntary markets.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, client acquisition, and market expansion strategies.
- Build capacity within client teams and internal stakeholders on carbon market trends and methodologies.
- Develop sustainability and ESG reports, including disclosures in alignment with frameworks such as CDP, TCFD, PCAF, CBAM, and EU CSRD.
- Lead Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting and reporting initiatives.
- Design and implement decarbonization strategies and Net-Zero roadmaps, including alignment with SBTi targets.
- Conduct climate risk and resilience assessments for various sectors.
- Advise financial institutions on climate financial risk reporting and sustainable practices.
- Facilitate sustainable and Net-Zero value chain management for corporate clients.
- Ensure compliance with evolving policy and regulatory frameworks for climate action.
- Leverage IT and AI-based tools for impact monitoring and quantification.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy, Climate Change, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in climate change advisory, carbon markets, or ESG consulting.
- Strong analytical skills in GHG accounting and carbon footprint assessments.
- Practical experience with carbon standards such as VERRA, Gold Standard, or CDM.
- Proficiency in sustainability strategy development and climate risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of carbon project mechanisms, Article 6 frameworks, and voluntary carbon markets.
- Familiarity with renewable energy, agriculture, and nature-based solutions.
- Awareness of India’s climate policies and global climate finance trends.
